     The "Long Session" of 2013 has come to an end.  We adjourned on Friday, July 26th.  The last two weeks of session saw a flurry of activity with a lot of very important items of legislation moving through the House.

     During the interim, I am not at the office on a regular schedule, but I still enjoy hearing from my constituents and welcome your feedback, thoughts, and ideas.

Communities in Schools (CIS) is looking for volunteers in eastern Wake County. Volunteer opportunities exist at Hodge Road Elementary, East Wake Middle School, and Knightdale High. You could be a lunch buddy, read, tutor, or just be a positive role model for someone. The time commitment is only one hour a week.  An orientation session will be held on January 23, 2014 at 11:30 am at Knightdale United Methodist Church. All are welcome. If you have questions about this important volunteer opportunity, you can contact the church office at 919-266-2373.
