Darren Jackson
Darren Jackson is one of the newest state legislators from the triangle.
Place of Residence
Darren currently lives near the Shotwell community, right outside of Knightdale. He has lived in eastern Wake County his entire life.
Education
Darren attended school in eastern Wake County, attending Carver, Knightdale, and Lockhart Elementary Schools, Vadien Whitley Middle School, and East Wake High School. He graduated from East Wake in 1988 as Salutatorian and Student Body President. Darren then attended UNC-Chapel Hill and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1993. After graduating from UNC-CH, Darren attended Duke University School of Law where he earned his law degree in 1996.
Darren is also a graduate of the Fall 2000 class of the Institute of Political Leadership.
Professional Career
After graduation, Darren went to work with Gay & Stroud, a law firm in Zebulon. In 1999, he was made a partner and in 2004, when Donna Stroud was elected to a judgeship, the firm became Gay & Jackson, LLP. As a small-town lawyer, Darren has a broad practice, although he mainly concentrates on real estate and civil litigation.

Personal
Darren is married to Tina Kent Jackson, an adult Nurse Practitioner with Cary Cardiology. Together they have three children: Alyssa, who is eighteen, a recent graduate of East Wake High School and current student at NCSU; Logan and Jack who are students in Wake County Public Schools.
